One of the most exciting aspects of this project was starting completely from fresh and building the brand from the ground up. This also involved the interior design of the restaurant itself which is an extension and echo of the branding I created for them.

We wanted the brand, like Harbour Lights, to celebrate fish and chips. We captured this with the bright colours and the fun that comes through in the illustrations.

Philps Bakery

Philps treat pasty making as a craft and this is what I wanted to come through in the branding. In a highly-commoditised industry the aim was to reflect their quality, their heritage and tell their story through illustration. The hand-drawn logo and graphic elements help capture this authenticity.

Trebah Gardens

For the product design I did for Trebah I wanted the spirit of the gardens to come through. That’s why I looked at incorporating ferns, bamboo and the carp; all iconic elements a visitor to Trebah will remember. The first products I created the designs for were some of the food products they sell like biscuits and chocolate, and this was where the influence for the colour palette came from.

Fentongollan Farm

There are four main elements of the Fentongollan brand which I had to capture when taking on the re-brand project. The four symbols in the logo represent these four elements making it a highly adaptable brand.

This lead the way for all future work including signage, catalogues and box packaging. They wanted their brand to be more personal and friendly, something I specialise in. By starting with a sketch book and hand-drawn illustrations I’m able to capture this feeling more effectively than working straight from a computer.

International Schools Theatre Association (ISTA)

ISTA, an international theatre organisation, hold theatre festivals and events all around the world. They celebrate diversity, creativity and aim to change the world through theatre. I developed their branding to capture all of their energy and artistic nature. I now help ISTA with everything from creating digital assets through to their printed material and t-shirts.

St Michaels Mount

The products sold in the St Michael’s Mount shop all needed a new look and feel. Rather than just focusing on the Mount we wanted to draw in elements of life around the Mount from sailing to gig rowing. The illustration is loose and free and an example of some of my earlier work.

My Brands

My Brands

The Cornish Food Box Company

I have a great relationship with the Cornish Food Box Company and love making their ideas come to life. The brand I created is tactile and honest, reflecting the work they do in celebrating Cornish produce.

The logo has been really important to their growth and has been the cornerstone for the illustrations I produce for their boxes and bags which have developed over the years. The blocky text elements of the branding also work brilliantly in the new building they moved to in Truro.

Truro Cathedral

Truro Cathedral is an Anglican Cathedral located in the city of Truro, Cornwall and is one of only three Cathedrals in the United Kingdom with three spires! I was asked to develop a new range of branded products for the Cathedral Shop. I was inspired by the Gothic Revival architectural style fashionable during much of the nineteenth century, as well as the outstanding stained glass windows.

Harbour Lights Falmouth

Like all of my projects I started working with Harbour Lights, an award winning fish and chip shop in Falmouth, after I was recommended to them. Underpinning the re-brand brief was the idea to celebrate fish and chips while at the same time having fun.

I started with illustrations and a mood board focussing on fish and the ocean to tie into the restaurant’s iconic location. They loved them and this then set the tone for the whole brand, from the interior of the restaurant through to the packaging of their boxes and their takeaway screens.

Truro Cathedral Roof Appeal

I first started working with Truro Cathedral through doing illustrations for products they were selling in their shop. I then took on the project of developing all the campaign collateral and materials for the Truro Roof Appeal, working closely with the cathedral’s team. We needed something to engage with the general public and have impact, which this design does. It needed to be different from the main brand and create a sense of urgency. This has lead to me working on a brand refresh project, due to launch shortly.

The Cornish Pasta Company

The aim of the Cornish Pasta Company is to celebrate all things pasta and all things Cornwall. Handmade is a key ethos for them as is paying homage to the ingredients that make great pasta and great pasta sauces. Through different mood boards and ideas we finally settled on a logo that captures the fun and friendliness of people enjoying pasta together. Project launching in 2017.

Helston Town

The Helston Town Brand was developed to give Helston an identity to be proud of.

Rose delivered brand workshops with the town's businesses, students and general public which inspired the outcome of six individual brands. All six were put to the town's people to vote. The selected brand highlights the diversity and uniqueness of Helston town’s business community.

Cornhill Farm

Cornhill Farm is all about eggs! It’s a fun, friendly family who run the farm, raising hens and producing excellent eggs. The idea behind the new egg box was to make it feel personal and like the customer has just picked the eggs up from down the road. The eggs are sold in Waitrose and in different farm shops. The brand also has different elements to represent different areas of the business.

Wild Smoked

Wild Smoked celebrates the joy of hand crafted smoked food. They care deeply about the environment and about food. Their products are caught, hunted or crafted using traditional and sustainable methods that allow the natural world to continue to thrive around us; and this is the essence the design strives to capture. As well as the branding I’ve also created the packaging for them.

CPR Regeneration

I was was asked to produce a final report to showcase the work of the CPR Regeneration organisation during its lifetime.
